Bonjour Blog readers,
Today I did another Summer Learning Journey task! This task was super fun because I got to create my very own non-existing sea creature. An idea from The Summer Learning Journey team was to combine two animals into one. Also known as a Hybrid!
I chose a penguin and a shark for two reasons.
- Both look adorable as a cartoon, which I thought would make them as one animal look so unique and cute.
- One I absolutely adore, the other I am terrified of, this makes a perfect combo!
Let me know what you think in the comments. Also, what two animals would you do for a Hybrid???
Blog to you soon, au revoir!
Kia ora Hayley,
It’s Charlotte again, a blog commenter for the Summer Learning Journey. Awesome work on your effort on your Aquatic Animal Step it up activity!
I enjoyed reading through your reasons as to why you chose to make your animal a combination of a penguin and a shark. I agree, they are both cute as a cartoon! I can see that you mentioned that you are terrified of sharks. Do you think you would be terrified of your hybrid animal?
Have you seen a shark or a penguin in real life? Unfortunately I have only ever seen them when they have washed up on the beach. I would love to see them in the wild!

Tena Koe Charlotte,
Thank you for commenting on my post!
In answer to your question, do I think I would be terrified of my Hybrid animal?
No I don’t think I would be. When I created it I imagined the animal being a cute loveable creature, that will hurt
you if you hurt them or any of their friends.
I have seen a penguin many times before, never a shark (thankfully). Unfortunately the only time I have
seen them is when I’m at a sea creature park, such as Sea World, Disney Sea, etc.
Thanks again
