Last Week we read Little Red Riding Hood. We got the task of rewriting the tale but doing somebody else’s perspective. I chose to do the Granny’s perspective. I have also made a word search. Let me know what words you found in the comments! Also include ones that weren’t even on the list if you find any.
Little old Granny and the very hungry wolf!
Once upon a time, there lived a little old granny. One day her beloved daughter called her,
“Morning Mum, Little Red Riding Hood was very eager to visit you today. I have given her a basket of goodies so she is good to go. She will set off in half an hour,” Lilly told her in a shaky voice. “I am looking forward to it. Remember to remind Little Red Riding Hood to stay on the path and to talk to nobody. There is a wolf hanging around here and I would hate for anything to happen to her.” Granny replied. Lilly heeded her mothers advice and told Little Red Riding Hood exactly that.
Later that morning Granny waited patiently for her favourite (and only) granddaughter. She sat in her leather bucket chair while reading the story ‘Where the Heart Sits.’
Knock, knock, knock. “It’s me, Granny,” a familiar voice said from the wooden cottage door. Unable to get up from feeling so sick she says “Come in my dear.” The door opens but it wasn’t Little Red Riding Hood who came through that door. It was a wolf, and oh how hungry he looked, Granny thought he would take one big chomp and I would be gone, but instead he said “Do you have food you could spare, I haven’t had food in weeks and I am starving,” he says, his tummy growling. This was very unexpected “Sure, there’s biscuits in the green and pink tin, the fruit is in the bowl on the bench and there’s cooked meat in the fridge,” Granny tells him.
A few hours later Little Red Riding Hood arrives. The door starts to open, “Hi Granny, it’s … Oh my gosh, Granny. I knew you were sick but I thought you would at least know whether there’s a Wolf in you kitchen!” Little Red Riding Hood exclaims.
“Hello Dear, there’s no need to worry, this poor wolf just came in because he was hungry. I showed him where all the food was and the poor things still hungry,” Responded Granny. “Help yourself to cookies, you know where they are.” Little Red Riding Hood couldn’t believe what she was hearing. This made no sense. Why was the wolf not eating them and why was there still so much meat in the fridge? She had to investigate. “So Wolf, do you want some chicken? it’s crumbed and delicious.” Wolf looked at her and then frowned, “I would have loved some,” He says. “But unfortunately I’m vegetarian. Thanks for the offer though!” Everything started to make sense, of course he was hungry. Most wolves kill their prey for food. However this one does not. No wonder they were still alive.
3 years later Granny got a new neighbour, his name is Wolf. Not only did she get a new neighbour, she also got a hot new boyfriend. Wolf got a new home and a flash new girlfriend. Granny’s in charge of food and shopping and Wolf is in charge of cooking it. Little Red Riding Hood loves Wolf now even though they do have some differences. In other words, they all lived happily ever after.
