Drama Time!

Drama can mean 2 different things it can mean gossip, arguments etc or it can mean acting, music, dancing etc. Our inquiry this term is Drama (the 2nd option). We are learning how to act at the moment. which I’ve got to admit is pretty fun. I love getting to be in someone else’s world. I have a new voice, new background story, a new life. People sometimes do this in everyday life. Although you may love 1 that doesn’t necessary mean you will also love the other. The other drama is mean, annoying, unnecessary etc. You may experience this sort of drama when you get into an argument with a friend or sibling. Everybody goes through this at least once. Even adults go through it sometimes.

Lets practice the acting sort of drama. For this game you will need 2 people or more. All you need is an object. For example a hair dryer. Once you have your object you and your opponents keep taking turns to use that object as something it’s not used for. You can get out by repeating the same use for it or using it for it’s natural object. Things you could use a hair dryer for is a gun, tattoo pen, pen, microphone, golf club, telescope and many more.

Give this game a go with some of your classmates at a break. Have fun!

Let me know what your object was and what some of the uses you came up with in the comments.

Satellites Being Launched!

Hi blog Readers

This term my pod is working on space. On Wednesday we learnt about craters on the moon. We were put in groups of 3. We had many things we needed for this project: sand, bucket, metal balls and a magnet etc. We put the sand in our buckets and had to drop the balls from different heights. To make sure we didn’t ruin the crater we had made when we collected the balls, we used the magnets to collect it. We found that the deepest whole was the biggest ball out of the three dropped from above our heads. To make sure it was an even estimate the person who dropped the ball from their knees did it for all 3 sizes. My favourite part was hearing about how deep the other groups balls dropped in the sand. My least favourite part was cleaning up. On Thursday we learnt about satellites. We were put in 7 groups of 4. Each group got a question we had to answer as a team. My groups question was how do satellites get launched into space. We found out the get launched by rockets. To find out more take a look at the doc above.
